Eat right, to eliminate or reduce the intake of junk food

What exactly is "junk food"? Certainly, it is the expression more appropriate for foods processed with low nutritional value. The term "fast food" is also used to refer to this. The term "junk food" was invented until 1972. It has now become a common place especially among the groups concerned about its effects on the body.

The definition of unhealthy foods has long been a source of contention between those on the nutrition and health care costs and those concerned with the price gap between treaties and unprocessed foods. Defenders of the fast food industry would maintain that the term includes a kind of snobbery of class and value judgments. They suggest when marketed by the highest opportunities the same items gain respectability and so become "healthy", despite having them a similar or worse yet nutritional than their counterparts less maintenance-rich communities. Certain types of chips, by example, even if marked junk food, could actually benefit you because they consist of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. Other foods such as rice, roasted potatoes and white bread have limited nutritional value, but they are not often referred to junk food. It goes same for breakfast cereals have escalation of quantities of sugar or sodium and lots of fat and yet they are not considered as junk food.

It is currently recognized around the world that excessive consumption of junk food may be injurious to health. It was clearly associated obesity, heart disease and some types of diabetes. Studies have also shown that it causes dental caries. The fact is junk foods lack the proper balance of protein, vitamins and minerals, fiber and other nutrients. However, they contain high levels of fat, sugar or sodium. They usually contain lots of food flavourings as mono sodium glutamate. Studies have also shown that the negative effects of empty calories clearly outweigh gains from any content of unsaturated fat. High amounts of sodium is a factor that contributes to the onset of hypertension.

It is particularly important for children who are clearly their years in development to eat a balanced diet. Those who consume junk food by default will consume less than a balanced diet. The consumption of natural fruit juices, for example, will be replaced by the high-fructose or carbonated beverages. All this contributes to a loss of calcium, which leads to the fragility of the bones and osteoporosis. A child developing in these factors would be a serious disadvantage.

Junk food is popular with manufacturers and consumers. For manufacturers, they are relatively more economic production, have a longer life because the preservatives that require less than a need which is stored in the refrigerator. They can also aggressive in the market for great little concern child-nutrition sector. For consumers, they are nicely package, are cheaper, almost no preparation needs, and have a ton of flavor with the sodium content.

There are legitimate doubts about the promotion marketing and sales, aimed at children. It may seem justified, but should be balanced with the fact that adults are to take care of children, in most cases anyway and should be more concerned with the nutritional food consume children. In some countries, they went up to restrict or prohibit certain advertisements in television for children. United States, no such prohibition exists and I do not think that it should. Parents and guardians must be more educated on nutrition and make sure that we and our children do not eat anything that puts our health in danger.
