The Yamaha YAS-23 - It Just Feels Right

I played Yamaha saxophones, long before I wrote this review Yamaha YAS - 23 and if you have never played a Yamaha saxophone you know why they are so popular and sell lots of them. Although I still prefer the sound of a Selmer, but Yamaha saxophones have some factor of gameplay which makes them feel good. The Yamaha YAS-23 alto saxophone is a highly recommended Horn for any beginner or even intermediate search for a good quality, well playing the saxophone. Now Yamaha YAS-23 is not the best model that, far from it. It is always a Yamaha well and there is a certain amount of integrity and quality of that company is known. Thus, there are still some comparisons that can be made between the YAS-23 again for about $1500 for the models they sell in the range of $4000.Some differences will have an enormous impact on a player who is just beginning for several reasons: QualityThe quality of some of the materials such as platelets of your hole, stems, and finishing are not as good as professional models, but longevity is not what the student models are made for. Yes, these parts will wear much earlier but can easily be replaced as needed and last for several more years and in General, long enough for any beginner. You'll notice also simply by looking at this sax that the quality of the lacquer is not as nice, and keys and stems are not gold and silver. Also these "cheaper" parts are a significant difference in sound or performance for the beginner to the intermediate player.High F #... NAAA!Some models have a high F # key but not the Yamaha YAS. Having a high F # can make it easier to play the note, this is why it was invented. My first sax had either and he took time to develop the technique to produce a high F # was listening. When I got a saxophone who did I found a little easier to get the note settle the key but I will argue that I made good improvement while working on my tone and the mouth up there without high F #., therefore go without in this case is not necessarily a bad thing.Best thing that take away from this review Yamaha YAS-23... It is just the right!Yamaha YAS-23 is much like all other models by the manufacturer and is that they just "feel right"... and it is very important! You know what that means that when you try to play several different brands and models. Some feel as they were made by a person who is not a player because of the spacing between some of the notes for example, or the height of a key side particular. These are things that affect our speed and playing comfort... just feels not good.Yamaha designs appear to have the comfort and playability that seems to come more from perspective of the player... it just feels good!
