There has been much debate on what is often called "free" energy - energy that one is assumed with the technology, can draw directly from the atmosphere and very abundant supply. Debates are about whether things actually exist or not, what it would actually cost were to be exploited, and if it exists is it really as abundant and efficient such that it be established by the proponents of the research and development in this potential alternative energy source.
When we hear the term "free energy device", one could be heard on one of several different concepts. This means a device for collection and transmission of energy from any source Orthodox science does not; a device that collects energy absolutely free of charge; or an example of the legendary perpetual motion machine. Needless to say, a machine to perpetual motion - a machine which led himself, forever, once activated, requiring therefore no energy input never and will never run out of energy - is impossible. However, it is not so easy to say that a new technology to exploit the "floating" energy in the atmosphere is impossible. New technologies replace old all the time with capabilities that had to be "impossible". Take advantage of the power of the atom for huge amounts of energy was "impossible" until in the 1940s. Flights of human beings humans have an "impossible" until the turn of the 20th century and the flight of the Wright brothers.
The higher demand for supporters of "free" energy is the enormous amounts of energy can be drawn the zero Point field. It is a quantum mechanical State of matter for a defined system which is reached when the system is in a State of energy that it may be in the lowest. This is called the "fundamental" in the system. Zero energy (ZPE) Point is sometimes called "residual" energy and it is first proposed to be used as another form of energy in 1913 by Albert Einstein and Otto Stern. It is also called "power vacuum" in the study of quantum mechanics, and that it is supposed to represent the energy of the completely empty space. This field of energy in the vacuum has been likened to the foam at the base of a waterfall by one of the key researchers in and supporters of Hal Puthof. Puthof also explains, the term "point zero" means simply that if the universe was cooled to absolute zero, where all the effects of thermal agitation would be frozen, this energy would be stayed. What is not as well known, however, even among practitioners physicists, are all the implications that derive from this known aspect o the quantum physics. However, there is a group of physicists - myself and colleagues in several laboratories of research and universities - studying the details, ask us this question as if it was possible to "mine" the reservoir of energy for use as an alternative energy source, or if this background energy field could be responsible for the inertia and gravity. These issues are of interest because it is known that this energy can be manipulated, and therefore, it is possible that control this energy and possibly inertia and gravity, could yield to the engineering solutions. Some grew into a subcategory of this (cavity QED) field to control the emission of excited atoms and molecules, laser and other research interests.
