Developmental after school programs

As a child, turns into an adult, different aspects of his physics.

emotional and mental self development needs. To help a child to reach their

full potential, it is necessary to recognize that the child of the development

the needs and capacities. To be effective, after school programs should help

children with tasks they must accomplish during each stage of development.

Growth curve of the child can be divided into three main parts:

(1) Young child (3-5 years)

(2) Middle school (6-8 years)

(3) School more aged (9-12 years)

The four important areas of development are: the physical domain, the

Social field, the affective domain and the intellectual domain. Each of

these areas must be addressed separately during the different phases

the growth of the child. After school programs should focus on

development of each area as applicable to the child's age. Although the

children participating in these programs may have similar developmental

needs and age, are not uniform development. Children will be

develop as and when they are ready.

Physical domain:

When children are young, they want to develop skills that they have just

has learned to control. A variety of movements such as jumping, capture and

throwing delight their. On the other hand, wants the child to school,

for more complex skills and to get involved in team sports. It is also

the best time to learn more about the rules and discipline in the sport. The oldest

school child is ready for adult-like most activities requiring a greater

structure and discipline, such as dance, gymnastics, music classes, etc.

Social field:

Others observe young children and will focus on the games where

they play the role of the family members. They develop friendships in the short term

and the need for the presence of an adult to ensure. The middle school child is

Intrigued by the company and will love travel to factories, public buildings

etc. They want to know the "how" and "why" of things. More old school

the child is ready to learn more about customs, food, and different cultures. They

wants to make a certain amount of social work too.

Intellectual field:

Young students will practice what they learn. Middle school

children learn more skills and show interest in reading.

drama and problem solving. The older children of the school are ready to search

and the probe. They like get a puzzle and meditate on it.

Just after the curriculum should focus on the interests of the child in function

the category, it is in knowing the children in your program and

assessing their needs and interests will help staff to plan and

structure programs that are more useful for this group.
