Why dance?

When it comes to dance there are many reasons that different people in different cultures spanning the globe choose to dance. This article will explore some of the reasons much who dance around the world of people and may provide new incentives so that you can dance your way through your days as well.

Dance of Religion

Many religions of the world and throughout history have used dance to the glory of their deities, in celebration of the seasons, and simply as an expression to the outside of the joy. Christianity has mixed emotions when it comes to dance. Some religions believe that all sorts of social dance can lead to thoughts or prohibited actions and tend to frown on dancing in General as a result while other Christian religions believe that there is a time, place and objective for dance. Some have even incorporated dancing in their religious ceremonies (marriages for example). Most will agree that dance is a matter of personal belief in the Christian religion because of the heated debates that might arise on the subject.

The dance of the Hindu religion is an essential form of worshipping the various aspects of the divine. This form of dance is often wrongly called the Indian classical dance while in reality, it is a form of worship. There are various dances for various deities each God has a different preference.

Even the religion of Islam has its own version of the dance for the cult. Those who practice this form of dance for the sake of worship are often called Dervishes.

Weapon dance

It is a dance form that has a long history that dates back to Spartan warriors prepares for the battle. This style of dance has been used throughout history and around the world by many countries and cultures such as the preparation, training and raise morale for the imminent battle. War or the imminent battle was not the only reason that the Amerindian tribes dance however. Dance held an important role in praise of various gods as well as tribal ceremonies or individual expressions of prayer, grief, joy, or simply to make room for the character and become one with the world around them. The dance is essential to the culture and Native American heritage. For the native American dance to the beat of the drum is an essential element. It is the drum roll which feeds the pace and intensity of the dance.

Competitive dance

Around the world there are those that competitive dance in all forms of dance. Recreational forms of dance to the spiritual forms of dance, competitions are fierce and competitors often spend their lives and the vast majority of their free time to refine and perfect their particular forms of dance. Competitive dance, there are judges who judge of artistic expression, technical skills, costumes and consistency or movements. Those dancing competitively must be committed to their craft to remain competitive.

Of course people dance all simply because they want to, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. There is really no reason of bad dancing unless you are forced to do against your will. Otherwise when it comes to dance, the best reason to dance is because the music you leaves no other option but to dance.
