There are many reasons why people prefer to freelance rather than being stuck in a contract with a company or entrepreneur. One reason is the flexibility of time and timing, as well as the freedom to work anytime and anywhere. But along with these advantages is the disadvantage of procrastination. Because freelancers often work on their own, there is often a tendency to be distracted by other activities before they are actually able to start your work. This is where time is very convenient boxing.
Time boxing is useful especially in working conditions such as that of a freelancer. It focuses on time spent rather than the work done. It basically allows to define a set time, or the time for the tasks you need to do. For example, if you need to prepare a draft for your article, you can set 30 minutes as the time to do so. And when your 30 minutes are up, if you have completed your task or not, you will need to stop. From there, however, you can choose to set the time again for another 30 minutes to continue the task. However, you can set the task for a longer time, or make a rough estimate of the amount of time you will need to complete the task.
As mentioned above, you set the amount of time you want to spend on each task you have for the day, week, or even months. Time boxing is very flexible and can be used in a couple of ways, but there are two basic ways the technique can be used. As you may already know, this technique involves a timer that turns off when time you set up for the tasks are performed. When this happens, you can either continue working or to stop the cold. The cold shutdown is about what this term shutdown. When the alarm goes off, if you have completed the task or not, you stop and drop everything for this specific task. You can then proceed to the next task, and do the same when the alarm triggers for the next task. If, on the other hand, you continue and continue working on the task, even after the alarm goes off, which is also another option. This is particularly useful if the alarm triggers just as you are only 5 minutes or less to complete the task, or if you do not have a job lined up after.
