During the months of fall and winter, as leafs of organic and plant material may have found its way in your pond. While the water seems clear at the time, the organic matter placed a large amount of nutrients in your pond, which will result in an increase in the growth of algae on the arrival of spring. If the algae was not enough, the large amount of organic matter in your pond will begin to decompose and will reduce the oxygen content in water.

Since your water is perfectly clear, this is the perfect time to clear all this unwanted debris and the slot of your pond. This can be done a number of ways.
