How To Practice Less and Get Better Results
For many students, is an insult. They hate it. But they know that it must be done. The big question, however, is "how much." How much time must be spent in the practice of a musical instrument? To answer that, let's get our understanding of the meaning of "practice" in place. Then, you can see that it is much easier that to account for most people. It must be a recognition that playing a musical instrument is not practical. When the great performers appear on stage, they are not practising. They perform. They bring to the audience the months and weeks of practice in a unique spectacle that is the culmination of each moment is that in the past, including the former shows. The great pianist, Vladimir Horowitz, in his younger years advised of six to eight hours of practice per day. In his later years, he had only decreased up to two hours or less. Why the change? As Horowitz, in his last years, knew how to practice. He did not so long that to achieve the same result. He learned what it is to become a good practice, which, in turn, makes him to perform. Here are the key. It is simple, easy to apply and will make all the difference. The hands, fingers, feet, arms and nervous to respond to commands issued by the brain is the practical training.Practical, therefore, is mainly spending time on something, you know not to play the music that you don't know.Much time is wasted by the students who want to go again and again a piece because they already know it, the work is easy. What is, however, is the tenacity to take on something that is not known.Too many students copy my past mistakes. I started at the beginning of the play, whenever they sat down to practice. Finally, I would come to a passage that I couldn't manage, fight on it, go to the end, and maybe start over the process. It was only later that I would go directly to part I informed step correctly, could step play well and work on this article short until I got it down without error. And then I will play portions of music share and on the other. When the child starts at the beginning all the time, she gets fast mode execution, not practice mode. One is governed more by emotions, while the idea of practice is intellectual work. "I must do this movement to achieve this result." "And I must be able to do so at the request, first time."Looking over his shoulder for your child when they sit or stand with their musical instrument and encourage the practice rather than perform.Less time can produce results faster and better. Try it and hear the results. Then relax and enjoy the performance.
