It has also been called by several other names. These other names are "double diabetes", "hybrid diabetes" and "the type 1.5 diabetes." It was discovered that the brain can also produce insulin. Type 3 diabetes is specific to the brain and step of things are known about it. Plaque formation is seen in the brain and is part of aging.It is believed that the formation of plaque reduces synthesis of insulin in the brain. Brain insulin has several functions. The major function of insulin is memories of synapses form and type 3 diabetes, suffers from this memory formation. It is believed that the plates which has accumulated destroy the insulin receptor. In this sense, the diabetes is similar to insulin resistant diabetes where it is also a decrease in the number of insulin receptors.Diabetes increases the risk of Alzheimer's by 65%. This neurodegenerative disease is feared by everyone because it deprives a person of his memories. It was suggested that type 3 diabetes is closely linked to the development of Alzheimer's disease. The brain produces its own cholesterol and the maximum amount of cholesterol found in the brain.In diabetes, the expression of the genes concerned with the synthesis of cholesterol is reduced. The deficiency of insulin in the brain that encountered in type 3 diabetes may be responsible for this decrease in cholesterol synthesis. Defective synthesis of cholesterol in the brain is supposed to be the factor behind several neurological problems such as eating disorders, memory impairment, depression, altered the sensation of pain and impairment of motor activity.
